Our Team

Ofir Tal

Ofir Tal is a founding partner of the firm and the head of the Labor Law department.

Adv. Tal specializes in the full spectrum of labor law. He has extensive expertise in conducting collective negotiations, drafting collective agreements, formulating labor law policy, preparing compliance programs for organizations regarding their adherence to various legal provisions, fulfilling employers’ obligations, determining work regulations, compensation and salary policies. He also assists with organizational and structural changes, crisis situations, drafting personal and collective employment agreements, and managing termination and retirement procedures. In addition, Adv. Tal has many years of experience in handling legal proceedings before all instances dealing with labor law – both individual and collective – including labor courts, the Supreme Court, disciplinary committees, parity committees and more. He has extensive experience working with all supervisory and administrative bodies in the civil service.

In the field of employee representation, Adv. Tal provides legal advice and support to senior executives in the public and private sectors. He has represented the Journalists’ Association in Jerusalem for over two decades in various proceedings.

Over the years, Adv. Tal has been involved in several legal precedents, including determining the obligation to hold a hearing for employees prior to removing them from their position, establishing the labor court’s jurisdiction in tort claims against employees, classifying pension rulings in the civil service for determining statutes of limitation, mandating hearings for heads of religious councils before determining benefits, and a precedent-setting ruling regarding the amount of non-monetary compensation that an employee must pay to their employer. He has also worked on integrating contractor workers in the civil service.

In addition to his in-depth proficiency in labor law, Adv. Tal has gained considerable knowledge and expertise in accompanying third sector bodies. He assists associations and non-profit organizations in all areas of activity in the third sector: culture and arts, welfare, health and mental health, senior citizens, education and higher education, transportation, and more. Adv. Tal provides comprehensive advice and support, referring clients to professionals and other specialized attorneys from the firm, as needed.

Alongside his legal activities in the firm, Adv. Tal also engages in pro-bono work. Since 1999, he has advised the Forum of Reserve Battalion and Brigade Commanders and Pilots, and later became one of the founders of the Association for Reserve Soldiers, which continues the work of the Forum, and is a member of its management and legal team. Within these frameworks he participated in drafting the Reserve Soldiers Insurance Law, the Reserve Duty Law, and a series of regulations and rules. During the Swords of Iron War, he initiated and led numerous legislative amendments and benefits for reservists, such as providing protection against dismissal for reservists’ families, establishing a dedicated compensation fund for reserve soldiers and their families, increasing the minimum compensation for reservists, and more. He has frequently appeared on behalf of the association in Knesset committees and media outlets, and is in contact with legislators, state and military representatives.

In addition to these activities, Adv. Tal serves as Chair of the board of Remangar (PBC), one of Israel’s leading flamenco troupes, which also operates flamenco and dance schools in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

Adv. Tal is also active in various social organizations, and in April 2022 participated in an aid delegation of scouting groups for refugees from Ukraine.
